WR Markeith Ambles Heads To Arizona Western CC

In what has been a series of events it is now official that WR Markeith Ambles is headed to the desert of Yuma, AZ to attend Arizona Western Community College. Markeith was a 5 star All American (Class of 2010) coming out of Henry County High School in McDonough, GA. He was a highly recruited highly followed prospect while in High School. I had the personal pleasure of witnessing a Blue Chip athlete in the making. I remember seeing this kid go from individual skill camp to camp and picking up offers from one Major D1 program after the next. In fact in the summer going into his junior yr. in High School he went to 7 camps and received 7 offers. This is something I never witnessed prior to him. He eventually settled on attending the University of Tennessee to play for the Vols and then head Coach Lane Kiffin. He had always been a fan of USC even before Tennessee. With the departure of Pete Carroll and numerous rumors surrounding Markeith's freshman year in High School (which I stress the word rumors) eventually led to USC backing off of Ambles. But then fate would have it that Lane Kiffin was offered the job at USC, and Ambles followed. Could this have been a costly mistake in the career of Ambles? I don't know! All I know is that the moment he stepped foot in CA it was love at first sight. I took Ambles and my son Samuel on unofficial visits to UCLA, USC, CAL and Fresno St. in the summer of 2009. I felt as though he would have a great career wherever he went, but also knew in my heart that the WEST COAST would embrace this kid from the South. Well as things turned out it wasn't such a great experience for Ambles.  He has had his share of conflict at USC but those days are behind him! There is no need to point fingers or cast blame at this point. He has a new outlook on life and the maturity level needed to excel. He has made the decision to continue to pursue his career athletically and academically. His potential is unmatched and this is coming from someone that knows the kid. I know his drive his skill set and rawness! I've seen it first hand and know that he is a virtual threat each and every time he touches the ball.

WR Markeith Ambles Makes A Spectacular Grab In The (2010 U.S. Army All American Bowl)
AZ Western made out good with this one. They should be a viable force to be reckoned with!  They had a stellar 2011 season making it to the Junior College National Championship, although they lost to East Miss Community College. The Matadors boast of few transfers with another standout in WR Antonio Goodwin who is transferring from Auburn.  I spoke with Coach Dominguez from AZ Western and he has made it very clear that they intend to compete for the National Championship again this coming season. I believe they will have every tool and weapon needed to complete that mission. Redzone Recruits wishes Markeith Ambles and AZ Western the very best in 2012.  And who knows after AZ Western Ambles may end up finishing his career at another school out west, or maybe not. This will definitely be a story worth following.
