Wr Lance Ray Named NJCAA P.O.W.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK Lance Ray, Northwest Mississippi Community College
Wide Receiver/Kick Returner; Quincy, Fla.; East Gadsden High School

Ray (6’3” / 210 lbs.) returned a kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter of Northwest Mississippi’s 56-55 overtime win over No. 8 Pearl River. It was the first kickoff returned for a touchdown by the Rangers since 2008. He also had three other scores on the night on receptions of 74, 30, and 43. He had a total of 4 catches totaling 153 yrds. And also had a 2pt conversion. Ray, a sophomore transfer from the University of Arkansas, also looked very impressive last week against East Central CC hauling in 3 receptions for 61 yrds and 1 TD before retiring the whole second half. Redzone Recruits expects Ray to be a hot commodity after the season is over. There have been schools showing a lot of interest in picking Lance up after the season is over. Troy has offered early this season after the electrifying opening performance!
